PRAYER PAGE December 30, 2007 As we approach the beginning of a new year, we can most appropriately and profitably spend more time in earnest prayer. I am suggesting that we let some saints who were poets lead us in a time of prayer. Several of our hymns and songs in our hymnal, The Celebration Hymnal, take the form of earnest, fervent prayers. Let us use these hymns for our prayer this week. 1. Let our lives sing a prayer of adoration and consecration. Hymn #552 2. Let our lives sing a prayer regarding Bible study for the coming year. Hymn #413 3. Let our lives sing a prayer for spiritual illumination. Hymn #563 4. Let our lives sing a prayer of commitment to personal witnessing. Hymn #449 When we pray, we let God come into our lives to help us. We also dedicate ourselves to helping Him with His work in the world. Let us rejoice because of the year that is ahead of us.
