The
purpose of the Church is to have
Gods will done here on
earth. See Matthew chapter 6:10.
One way to have this purpose
fulfilled is prayer by the church
on a daily basis.
The
first thing in prayer is to
acknowledge the Lordship of Jesus
Christ in your life. This means a
willingness to obey His teachings
in the Bible.
Use
the Word of God, (the Bible),
when you pray. When you use the
Bible in your prayer time, the
Spirit of God gives wisdom and
new insights as you
pray.
The
following passage is a suggestion
in using the your Bible while you
pray. Colossians 1:9-14. Notice
the various items of
prayer:
- asking
God to fill you with the
knowledge of His
will,
- in
order that you may live a life
worthy of the
Lord,
- pleasing
Him in every
way.
- Strengthened
with all power according to
His glorious
might,
- Give
thanks to the Father, who has
qualified you to share in the
Kingdom of God, and your
redemption has included the
forgiveness of
sin.
Praying
in this manner produces some
mighty prayers for the Living
Church of Jesus Christ.
